Zabit Samedov Upsets Badr Hari in Moscow (Video)

Tonight in Russia, Azerbaijan’s Zabit Samedov finally got his revenge on Badr Hari. After losing two fights in a row to the Golden Boy in K-1, Zabit Samedov rallied in the second round of their third confrontation at LEGENDS to put Hari away in front of a supportive crowd.

Samedov initially found success in the first round, wobbling Badr early on with a vicious hook. Referee Joop Uebeda gave Hari a standing 8 count, and moving into the second, the Morrocan emerged more fiery and vicious than before. After landing a slew of stomach crumpling body shots and left knees, Samedov survived and unloaded a crushing uppercut down the pipe. Hari went down for a second time, seemed to make the count, but appeared to choose not to stand. The fight was called and the Azerbaijan sensation got the win of his career.

Reasons why Badr decided not to continue the fight are nebulous at best. He could have simply lost the will to go on, or perhaps believed the outcome was inevitable. Others have rumored gambling and crowd favoritism played a role in the affair. Whatever the case, you can watch the full video of the bout below and come to your own conclusions.
