An Impressive Streak: Phuket Top Team Goes 10-0 Over the Last 8 Weeks (Short Documentary)

It’s hard to argue with numbers.

Over the last two months, Phuket Top Team, based out of Phuket, Thailand, has been on such a head scratching tear that it’s difficult not to list them among the best MMA camps in Asia, both in terms of location and fighters.

The impressive 10 and 0 streak has been full of top quality wins, including victories in PXC, MFC, and ONE FC. While every gym certainly has it’s time at the top of the pedestal and at the bottom, going 10-0 in professional, high level MMA is nearly unheard of.

Syafiq “The Slasher” headed off the month of May, defeating Wesley Machado with a second round armbar finish. On American soil, Raja Shippen earned Knockout of the Knight honors with a crushing head-kick KO win at XFS Demolition. Next on the list, Helen Harper ventured to Malaysia to participate in Female MMA’s first ever professional MMA bout; a match she won with by her nearly trademarked guillotine choke.

Randall Ray made short work of his opponent in Koh Samui, taking the victory with brutal ground and pound. Finally, Andrew Leone made his anticipated ONE FC debut against Geje Eustaquio, completely dominating the fight with superior positioning, while always threatening with an omni-present rear naked choke.

Bellator’s JJ Ambrose, the dynamic Rob Lisita, and Lachlan Lewis Hay all also took wins in the last eight weeks.

On the Muay Thai front, PTT’s own Nonsai Sor Sanyakorn has picked up four international wins in the last eight weeks, bringing Top Team’s record to an astounding high.

We spoke briefly to ptt owner/operator Boyd Clarke who said “we are just stoked to have had a run like this, it truly is a testament to the trainers, staff, students, fighters and everyone involved with the gym”
