Yushin Okami signs with World Series of Fighting

Recently released UFC fighter Yushin Okami has found a new home.

Following a TKO loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at last months UFC Fight Night 28 in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The worlds leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion decided to part ways with the top ranked Middleweight.

Prior to his last outing, Okami was on a three-fight win streak, and finished 13-5 overall with the UFC. The release left many fans stunned as the Japanese fighter had been a staple inside the Octagon for seven years, since making his debut all the way back in August 2006 at UFC 62.

The former UFC middleweight title contender has signed an exclusive, multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting, the promotion’s president Ray Sefo and executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz confirmed with MMAFighting.com.

Okami will make his WSOF debut “around March” 2014, however, a specific date and opponent hasn’t been finalized. “Thunder” will compete in the organization’s middleweight division.

World Series of Fighting are currently in the midst of a Middleweight Tournament, to crown their first Champion. With Okami set to make his debut with the promotion in 2014 this gives him a good chance at challenging the winner.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this
website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and
visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a superb job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Safari.
    Superb Blog!
