1on1 with Gianni Subba ahead of ONE FC Warrior Spirit Nov.15th

Gianni Subba (2-0) is arguably Malaysian MMA’s biggest success yet.

Debuting as a professional MMA fighter in one fc is no small task.

Getting a highlight reel left hook to soccer kick KO in your debut is one hell of an impressive start to a career.

Gianni at only 20 years of age then went on to have his second fight again in the ONE FC cage, winning this time via an impressive armbar finish.

Most recently Gianni and his brother (also a pro mma fighter) Keanu Subba(1-1), have made the move to become full time fighters with Phuket Top Team.

We sat with Gianni to get his take on his up-coming fight in ONE FC – Warrior Spirit November 15th in front of his home crowd in Kuala Lumpur.

You have competed 2 times in the one fc cage, with your debut pro mma fight being with one fc. You are 2-0 with 2 spectacular finishes… your 3rd fight is against fellow Malaysian fighter CHEN YUN TING, how do you feel about this match up?

I feel like it’s a good match up, Ting won impressively against a very game opponent his last fight. He’s not afraid to stand and is a very tough kid.

you have moved camps recently to be more permanently based with Phuket Top Team, how has that move and training been?

Yeah, PTT is home for me, the coaches and staff are the most welcoming and training is always top notch. This time around I got more time to really take my time and improve on all aspects.

At only 20 years of age with a soccer kick highlight knockout debut and a nice armbar submission win in your second fight, your name has been cemented early in the Asian MMA scene. What are your short term and long term goals in your career?

The goal right now is to take it one fight at a time and really try to be better everyday.

Your brother Keanu Subba is also a pro MMA fighter… what is his age and skill level? tell us a bit about him?

Keanu is 19 this year, He’s got a really long reach and is one of the hardest workers I know. As a pro he’s currently 1-1 but made his debut when he was 16 against a tough strong fighter. Keanu’s the man and he should be taking names soon enough.

Being 2 brothers fighting out of Malaysia and Phuket Top Team in Thailand… how does training with each other feel? and how does your family feel about having 2 pro fighters?

We’ve been training each other since day one, we are very competitive so it’s good that there is always someone to push me and let me know when i’m being lazy. Haha…well…. mom was little worried at first, and my pops has always been supportive, he plays a big part in our journey. As full time driver/chef/manager and father, we really owe everything to him.

What aspects of your game have you been working on to develop or just gradually developing all aspects of your mma skills? And who have you been working/training with to prepare for this fight?

I’ve been working my wrestling and mma with Donny (Don Carlo Clauss & Andrew leone), striking with Boyd Clarke and the Thai trainers, also Anthony Leone helping me with the strength and conditioning & grappling. Of course Prof. Olavo Abreu is helping my BJJ game and is a great teacher. There’s always high level guys in the gym so I get to train with some of the best fighters all the time.

How do you feel you stand in the one fc flyweight division?

I feel like I’m climbing my way up the division, hoping for a big win on November 15th!

Beyond that it’s just one fight at a time.

Gianni Subba would like to say thank you to Tune Talk, KEN Fightwear and Phuket Top Team…. all his supporters, coaches, training partners and of course his family for support.

ONE Fighting Championship™ continues its sold-out multi-city world tour with another massive event scheduled at the 15,000-seater Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur on 15 November.

Presented by Official Telco Tune Talk, this third return of the largest mixed martial arts event to Malaysia marks a historic moment for the country as a Malaysian steps up for the first time to compete for a World Championship title belt in mixed martial arts. After defeating a line-up of international opponents, Adam “Shogun” Shahir Kayoom has earned his shot at the biggest Welterweight title belt in the world, but standing between him and the coveted title is veteran Japanese fighter Nobutatsu Suzuki, who has every intention of keeping that belt for himself.

Be there to witness a heart-stopping night of world-class MMA action as the 20 of the best fighters in the world clash in the famed ONE FC cage for the BIGGEST Fight Night in Malaysia’s history.

The first week, you get acquainted with your new
routine, and the end of the diet seems so far away. Indeed, it has been found
that men using HCG to lose weight have even better outcomes than female
users in several instances. The treatment comes in both drops and injections, which are given by a doctor.
