Three Bouts added to ONE FC: Warrior Spirit

ONE FC have announced today three more bouts for their upcoming card in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event is scheduled to take place November 15th.

Peter Davis (6-3) looks to get back on track having lost his last two outings. The fighter who trains out of Muayfit is touted as being the best Lightweight in Malaysia, and is the promotions biggest draw for the Malaysian crowd. Most recently he took on top prospect Eddie Ng at last month’s show losing the contest via Submission (Armbar) in the first round. Prior to the loss he finished all three of his foes inside the famed ONE FC cage in impressive fashion.

His opponent Alaa Mazloum is a bit of an unknown having a 1-0 record, he’s a Wushu Champion that fights out of Egyptian Top Team. Alaa is described as a game fighter that won’t back down, standing toe-to-toe with his opponents trading shots. This will be the fighter dubbed “The Flash” first fight back since 2011 when he made his professional debut defeating Hossam Nasser via TKO in the first round.

Saiful Merican steps back into the cage for a second time with ONE FC in hopes of being on the winning end this time out. The Malaysian fighter transitioned from the world of Muay Thai into Mixed Martial Arts and has a 1-1 record. Saiful is an aggressive fighter that likes to push the pace.

Cambodia’s Tok Sophon will be the man standing across from him. Sophon marked his Mixed Martial Arts debut earlier this year winning the bout via Unanimous Decision. This will be the first time he steps foot inside the ONE FC cage. With both fighters being noted strikers this could turn out to be a classic brawl.

Also on the card is undefeated Leandro Ataides (5-0) as he looks to make his promotional debut. The Evolve MMA affiliate is a well-rounded fighter, but it’s his ground game that puts his opponents in trouble. The Brazilian has finished his last four outings. Ataides boast an impressive grappling background being a 5-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion.

Bryan Rafiq will be the man looking to end Ataides’ unbeaten streak. The 27-year-old also makes his debut with the promotion riding a 3-fight win streak. Primarily known as a grappler himself, he may look to keep this one upright given his opponents accolades.

The headline portion of the card will see hard hitting Nobutatsu Suzuki battle it out with Malaysia’s very own Adam Kayoom for the vacant ONE FC Welterweight title.

ONE FC CEO Victor Cui stated:

ONE FC: WARRIOR SPIRIT promises to be a night of adrenaline-pumping action that will have the Malaysian fans on the edge of their seats as ONE FC continues a multi-city tour across Asia. Malaysian stars Peter Davis and Saiful Merican make their return to the ONE FC cage in front of a partisan Malaysian crowd. Both of them are hugely popular for their fighting style and their bouts could potentially be battling for Fight of the Night honors.
