Guan Wang Headlines against Bekbulat Magomedov at RUFF 11

Coming off the recent success of RUFF 10, Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation looks to keep momentum going with RUFF 11 later this month in Shanghai.

The Main Event will see a contest between unbeaten Featherweight prospects Guan Wang (12-0-1) and Bekbulat Magomedov (11-0).

Chinese star Guan most recently defeated Sandro de Silva for a second time around knocking out his foe in quick succession in the first round. One of China’s hottest commodities began his Mixed Martial Arts career back in 2006, and has since then ran through his competition with ease. This will be the fighter known as “The Dongbei Dragons” toughest test to date, as he takes on hard nosed Magomedov.

Standing across from him is Russia’s native Bekbulat Magomedov. The Russians competed seven times this year and has finished all of his opponents by way of stoppage, with only one of them making it out of the first round. Magomedov is set to make his promotional debut with RUFF, and he’s been given the chance at defeating the organizations top fighter.

Also on the card is Flyweight Champion Meixuan Zhang and Lightweight Champion Rodrigo Caporal.

The always-exciting Meixuan (6-1) will be taken on Amu Rijirigala (7-2) for a second time. The China Top Team fighter has earned his shot at redemption by defeating both Zhifa Shang and Xiaoyang Liu by Submission in the first round. While his opponent Zhang is currently on a 4-fight win streak, since coming up short against Pingyuan Liu in a close Split Decision loss.

Rodrigo Caporal (10-4)  has won his last six outings, and most recently claimed the RUFF Lightweight title earlier this year defeating Rasul Khairulaev by Unanimous Decision in the promotions last trip to Shanghai. His opponent Iftikhor Arbobov (10-1) is a Russian Combat Sambo Champion, and is on a 4-fight win streak.

The card will see another rematch between Zhenhong Lu and LuiCai Cui.

Zhenghong (4-1) defeated his opponent back in 2012, and has since then racked up two wins taken his streak to four in a row. Luicai (3-3) looks to bounce back and get revenge. This will be his first fight back since losing to Zhenhong in almost a year.

[…] As previously mentioned, the headlining bout for this installment is set feature a 145-lbs tilt between unbeaten combatants Wang Guan (12-0-1) and Bekbulat Magomedov (11-0). The latter was set to compete against Will Chope in January’s UFC Fight Night 34, but was scratched from the card due to contractual obligations with RUFF. The Russian has finished 10 of his 11 victories and is just one of several prospects from Russia looking to take the Mixed Martial Arts scene by storm. […]
