Pac-Rios fight card: Last straw for Manny Pacquaio on November 23?

Saturday, November 23, Boxing fans are in for a good one. Manny Pacquaio vs. Brandon Rios will be aired live on HBO PPV. “Pac-Rios” goes down at the The Venetian in Macau, with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.

This will be Boxing’s final event of the calendar year and fans are set to be in for a treat. Filipino hero and one of the best Boxers of the decade, Manny Pacquiao, fights for the first time since his devastating knockout defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez last year. Even before that fight, questions were being asked of how much longer Pacquaio was going to be in the sport. Now, following that crushing set-back, those questions will be answered. Fans will find out if Pacquaio still has the tank to continue. He takes on Brandon Rios, a native of Texas, who’s coming off his own loss in a sturdy and intriguing outing with Mike Alvarado. It’s no secret that Rios is being viewed as a hand-picked opponent for Pacquiao’s shot to get back in the win column, but that’s a little pretentious, to say the very least. That loss against Marquez may have taken a lot from Pacquaio, who was also ruled out in a potential clash with current Boxing kingpin, Floyd Mayweather Jr.. Nonetheless, “Pac-Rios” is a great match-up and a clash that’s well worth spending some big bucks on.

Pacquiao vs. Rios serves as the headliner for a five-fight PPV card. On the undercard, Pacquiao’s training partner and Olympic gold medalist, Zou Shiming, fights in his third pro fight. He contests Juan Toscano in a Flyweight match-up. Evgeny Gradovich vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. among others will continue to serve as the appetizer for the night’s main event.
