Hyun Gyu Lim replaces Jake Ellenberger, faces Tarec Saffiedine in the Main Event at UFN 34

UFC Fight Night 34 gets a new Main event, as Jake Ellenberger (29-7) pulls out of his bout with Tarec Saffiedine (14-3) due to injury.

According to a report by Tatame.com Hyun Gyu Lim (12-3) will get the opportunity to step in and face the former Strikeforce champion when the UFC takes their first trip to Singapore at the turn of next year.

Lim made a name for himself fighting under the PXC banner where he would eventually claim the Welterweight title.

The UFC took notice and signed the South Korean, since then he’s went 2-0 inside the Octagon finishing his opponents (Marcelo Guimaraes & Pascal Krauss) in spectacular fashion.

Hyun Gyu Lim was scheduled to welcome former HEAT Welterweight champion Kiichi Kunimoto in Singapore.

Now, the 28-year old gets a shot at the biggest fight of his life when he squares off against former Strikeforce Welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine.

UFC Fight Night 34 goes down at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, January 4th.

Here’s how the card now looks:

Tarec Saffiedine vs. Hyun Gyu Lim
