Late addition for the Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2013, as Shinya Aoki takes on Toshikatsu Harada

After it was announced earlier this month that Shinya Aoki would compete at the Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye New Year’s Eve event.

IGF (Inoki Genome Federation) have today held a press conference announcing that his opponent will be former Gladiator Lightweight Champion Toshikatsu Harada.

The bout is scheduled to take place at 155 lbs.

Shinya Aoki (34-6-1) is currently on a 4-fight win streak with his most recent win coming at 145 lbs. The Evolve MMA product won his debut overcoming Cody Stevens via Unanimous Decision in a somewhat dominant, but lackluster fight under the ONE FC banner.

Prior to the fight he dominated Kotetsu Boku to claim the ONE FC Lightweight strap.

Toshikatsu Harada (11-9-2) hasn’t won a fight since the turn of the year when he stopped Akinori Iwamoto via TKO.

Since then, the Mach Dojo affiliate lost his last outing to Isamu Sugiuchi via Submission (Armbar) losing his Lightweight crown. And prior to that “TOSHI” fought both Shigenobu Takahashi & Jonathan Gary to a Draw.

IGF – Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2013 is scheduled for New Year’s Eve at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.

The main attraction of the evening will see Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii challenge Kazuyuki Fujita for the IGF Heavyweight title. This will be Fujita’s first fight back since Alistair Overeem violently knocked him out in 2009.

Here’s how the card looks thus far:

Satoshi Ishii vs. Kazuyuki Fujita
Shinya Aoki vs. Toshikatsu Harada
Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Atsushi Sawada
Satoru Kitaoka vs. Ramazan Esenbaev
Brett Rogers vs. Phil De Fries
