Mirko “Cro Cop” vs. Remy Bonjasky II announced for GLORY 14 on March 8th in Zagreb, Croatia

The world’s largest kickboxing promotion, GLORY, returns in 2014 and the promotion has a blockbuster main event in store for fans worldwide.

A heavyweight tilt pitting former three-time K-1 Grand Prix champ Remy Bonjasky (98-12-0, 36 KOs) against fellow K-1 world champ Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (22-7-0, 12 KOs) in a rematch for the ages, has been announced as the headlining tilt for GLORY 14, which will take place on March 8th in Zagreb, Croatia.

Officials, on Friday, relayed the update to Fight Sport Asia.

Filipovic, also a legend in the Mixed Martial Arts circles, won the 2013 K-1 World Grand Prix on March 16th in front of his own countrymen in Zagreb, Croatia. His first meeting with Bonjasky dates all the way back to 2002, where “Cro Cop” defeated his Dutch-Surinamese counterpart via TKO.

But Bonjasky, 37, has evolved in leaps and bounds since that meeting. Nicknamed “The Flying Gentleman” for his extraordinary array of flying kicks and knees, Bonjasky last featured at GLORY 13 just a week ago, in a losing effort to Anderson “Braddock” Silva in the opening round of the promotion’s Welterweight tourney. He will be looking to snap a three-fight losing skid.
