Luiz Dutra loses by disqualification after landing illegal elbows

The striking exchanges that got both guys going was entertaining to say the least, right up to the point where Dutra was deemed to have landed multiple elbows at the back of Kiichi Kunimoto’s head, when the Japanese fighter had a takedown attempt up against the cage.

Kunimoto went limp, immediately, and sought medical attention.

The fight was stopped for a period of time, before the referee was forced to call off the bout with Kunimoto not being able to recover.

Dutra argued his point to the official that his elbows were legal, but to no avail. Kunimoto has to be stretchered out of the octagon.
