Kamal Shalorus meets Eddie Ng at ONE FC 14: War of Nations

A blockbuster Welterweight match-up between Kamal Shalorus (pictured) and Eddie Ng is the latest addition to March’s ONE FC 14 card.

MMAWeekly.com first announced the bout after confirmation with ONE FC officials.

ONE FC 14: War of Nations takes place March 14 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The night’s main card airs LIVE on Star Sports Asia, and streams online at http://www.onefc.livesport.tv/ for a price of USD $9.99.

The event will be ONE FC’s first of the calendar year. Previously announced match-ups for the card include include Nobutatsu Suzuki (10-1-2) vs. Brock Larson (37-7), Kevin Belingon (12-3) vs. Dae Hwan Kim, Yasuhiro Urushitani (21-6-6) vs. Adriano Moraes (9-1), Ann Osman (0-1) vs. Sherilyn Lim (1-0) and Shinichi Kojima (13-5-5) vs. Andrew Leone (6-2).

Shalorus (8-3-2) makes his second appearance under the ONE FC banner following a successful promotional debut at ONE FC 9: Rise to Power, where he scored a lopsided Unanimous Decision victory over Eduard Folayang. That was his first bout in his post-UFC career, where consecutive defeats to top contenders Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael Dos Anjos led to a pink slip. Nonetheless, “The Prince of Persia” made a strong introduction in his ONE FC debut, and with a win over Eddie Ng, he could easily find himself in a title bout against champ, Shinya Aoki.

Eddie Ng has steamrolled past his opponents of late, but Kamal Shalorus will be a step-up in competition.

Ng (7-1), meanwhile, has gone 4-0 in the promotion, and has spent less than ten minutes in the ONE FC cage to date. That’s a testament to the Hong Kong native’s knack for scoring finishes in brutal fashion, which has enabled him to establish quite a following and reputation in Asia. He has long been dubbed as one of the region’s top MMA fighters and in fact, turned down an opportunity from the UFC in late 2013. Beating Shalorus will, needless to say, be a huge feather in the 27-year-old’s cap. Ng possesses an exquisite, powerful all round MMA facet which will no doubt test the skills of his Iranian counterpart.

Malaysia’s own MMA star Peter Davis (7-3) has been confirmed for the March 14 card as well but there’s been no official word on his opponent.
