Full line-up for GLORY 14 announced: Cro Cop vs. Bonjasky, Andy Ristie to make first title defense

The world’s largest kickboxing promotion is set to return for another stacked line-up in March.

GLORY 14 will be GLORY’s first event of the calendar year, scheduled for March 8th at the Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia. The event will be carried on Spike TV once again, as with previous GLORY installments.

As previously announced, a heavyweight tussle between former K-1 champs Remy Bonjasky and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic headlines the event.

Now, a Lightweight title fight between Andy Ristie and David Kiria, along with a Middleweight contender tournament has been slated to the fight card as well.

Officials relayed the announcement to Fight Sport Asia a fortnight ago.

Andy Ristie fights for the first time since his shock, upset knockout victory over longtime divisional kingpin, Giorgio Petrosyan, in the semi-finals of GLORY 12’s Lightweight tourney in November last year. The 31-year-old Suriname native followed that up with a slick knockout victory over Dutchman Robin van Roosmalen in the finals, which garnered him the promotion’s Lightweight strap. Ristie is on a five-fight winning streak, and is 9-1 in his past ten outings.

He was originally pitted against Ky Hollenback for his first title defense, but the American withdrew from the contest for undisclosed reasons. David Kiria, though, stepped up to the plate and will now fight for the title. He competed in the GLORY 12 Lightweight tourney as well, but was eliminated in the semi-final bracket by the aforementioned van Roosmalen.

This will be the first time GLORY has one of its tournament champions defend his belt.

The Middleweight tournament, consisting of competitors Dustin Jacoby, Alex Pereira, Sahak Parparyan and Jason Wilnis, will take the spotlight as well, where the winner will be moved on to a championship tournament targeted later on in the year.

And as for the prelims/superfight series card, fans will get to witness names such as Artur Kyshenko compete on fight night.

Keep it locked to Fight Sport Asia for more updates on GLORY 14.

As it stands, the current line-up for the March 8th event includes:

MAIN CARD:

  • Mirko Cro Cop vs. Remy Bonjasky
  • Andy Ristie vs. David Kiria (For GLORY Lightweight Championship title)
  • *Middleweight Tournament Final*
  • Sahak Parparyan vs. Jason Wilnis (Middleweight Tournament Semi-Final match-up)
  • Dustin Jacoby vs. Alex Pereira (Middleweight Tournament Semi-Final match-up)
