Flyweights clash, as Rambaa Somdet meets Roldan Sangcha’an for the vacant PXC Flyweight title

Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) have today revealed a return trip to Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, Philippines on March 29th

Headlining the card sees a Flyweight clash between wild man Rambaa Somdet and fast-rising prospect Roldan Sangcha’an, who battle it out for the 125-lb gold.

Also announced for the event –  Ernesto Montilla Jr. vs. Ale Cali, Glen Ranillo vs. Reno Remegio Jr. and women’s Atomweight Gina Iniong.

Rambaa Somdet (12-2) has been a fan favorite for well over a decade. At 39-years-old the Thai fighter hasn’t tasted defeat in twelve years. Shooto’s first ever Flyweight (114-lbs) Champion has showcased his skills throughout Asia competing for the likes of GRABAKA, Shooto, PXC and DEEP. Now on ten-fight streak, Rambaa returns to the PXC banner for a second time following a successful promotional debut over Rabin Catalan.

His opponent is highly touted Filipino prospect Roldan Sangcha’an (4-0), who like Rambaa also made his rounds competing on the Asian MMA circuit. The Team Lakay standout finished last year with wins over Adam Cacay & Ernesto Montilla Jr. It was also rumored in 2013 that the young prodigy had signed with the UFC, but was then soon after denied. With a win over a respected opponent such as Somdet, the rumors of the signing could be revisited and become a reality here in 2014.

Flyweights continue, as former Flyweight Champion Ale Cali (5-2) returns to the PXC cage, following a loss to now UFC fighter Louis Smolka. With his loss behind him, Cali looks to get back on track and reclaim his title. The Filipino native known for his heavy hands and aggressive striking looks to add yet another KO to his resume, and get back in the title hunt.

Ernesto Montillo Jr. (3-2) looks to build momentum after a Unanimous Decision win over Jinel Lausa at PXC 41. The Filipino promotion has been home to all five of his bouts. As a new year begins Ernesto aims to spoil his opponents plans, and build up enough steam in order to challenge for the Flyweight strap later this year.

Glen Ranillo (3-2) makes his sixth appearance under the PXC lights come next month. Following a 1-2 start to his career, Ranillo has since then went on to win his last two outings defeating both Mark Billena & Isaiah Ordiz. Now on a two-fight win streak, the 30-year old seeks for his third straight when he’s paired off against Reno Remigo.

Reno Remigio (2-1) steps back into the cage fresh of his win over Korean Top Team product Seung Chan Hong, after taken the fight on short notice. Now with a full camp ahead of him, Reno will be looking to make another statement under the PXC banner.

A stablemate of Roldan, Gina Iniong (2-1) returns to the promotion following a successful debut. The Team Lakay affiliate is regarded as one of the brightest young female MMA fighters to come out of the Philippines. And after bouncing back from a loss, Gina looks to get her hand raised once again in her first bout of 2014. As of now no opponent has been named.

*Be sure to catch all the action at PXC 42 headlined by Jang Yong Kim & Toby Misech for the Featherweight title later this month, February 28th.
