Video: Watch Umar-Nikzad, Kareem-Yousofi contests from PAK MMA Fighting Alliance 2

Pakistan’s PAK MMA Fighting Alliance held its second instalment in Lahore earlier this month, putting together a fight card that was filled with premier Afghanistan vs. Pakistan match-ups. The line-up was split between Amateur MMA bouts and Professional MMA ones.

The event’s theme, aptly named ‘Vengeance’ for the whopping the Pakistanis took in the first event, ignited a fuel in the Pakistani fighters’ bellies. Needless to say, after the 0-6 thumping they suffered at the previous event against the Afghans, the Pakistanis were determined to be the ones celebrating the next time around.

Things did not go to plan in the co-main event though, as crowd favorite Uloomi Kareem suffered a TKO defeat in the second stanza to Afghan Mujtaba Yousofi.

It was all up to Waqar Umar to play the role of ‘crowd pleaser’ next, in the featured attraction of the evening. And to the delight of the audience, he duly delivered as a quick fracas on the canvas allowed Umar to sink in a Rear-Naked Choke, forcing his opponent, Nangyalai Nikzad, to tap.

Rightfully so, the Pakistanis were the ones left celebrating triumphantly.
