ONE FC announces two blockbuster events in the Philippines and Singapore in May

ONE Fighting Championship has confirmed that its next two events will take place in the month of May.

ONE FC will make a return to the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines on May 2nd, before touching down on home soil at the Singapore Indoor Stadium twenty-eight days later.

Officials relayed the info to Fight Sport Asia on Thursday afternoon.

“After months of anticipation, our fans in Manila and Singapore will be treated to a night of world-class mixed martial arts action on 2 & 30 May respectively,” stated Victor Cui, CEO of ONE Fighting Championship. “Mixed martial arts in the Philippines and Singapore has exploded at a phenomenal rate and some of the most passionate mixed martial arts fans in the world are based there. I am excited to bring them two blockbuster events in May and give them the chance to catch international mixed martial arts superstars and local heroes in the ONE FC cage again!”

While no names have been formerly announced, recent signings Ji Xian, Yusuke Kawanago and Rob Lisita among others are expected to be handed their promotional debuts in May. As with previous events, you can gather that a host of Filipino fighters will make up the May 2nd line-up, while some Singaporean names will be slated to the May 30th card.

One thing, however, is certain. Former Bellator Welterweight champ Ben Askren will make his promotional debut on the Singapore card. Askren will be facing the winner of the upcoming Brock Larson vs. Nobutatsu Suzuki 170-lbs title bout which will take place at ONE FC 14: War of Nations later this month.
