Yokkao 8 Results: Yokkao Fight Team’s Liam Harrison triumphs in main event

Muay Thai Combat mania struck the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England over the weekend on March 8th, for its eighth installment in the Yokkao series.

The event, which was promoted by Brian Calder in co-operation with Yokkao’s promoter Stefania Picelli, was considered by fans as the biggest Muay Thai show the UK had ever played host to, and true enough, the fight card delivered some sheer quality fights.

The main event clash between four-time Muay Thai world champ Liam Harrison and Frenchman Houcine Bennoui was a fight to determine who was the top Muay Thai “Farang” fighter in the world.

Harrison, who is apart of the prestigious Yokkao Fight Team, topped his opponent, Bennoui, after three rounds and secured a lopsided Decision victory.

Muay Thai’s latest Thai superstar, Pakorn PK MuayThaiGym, was originally slated to face Greg Wooton, one of the top fighters out of the UK, in the co-featured bout of the evening. But visa issues unfortunately prevented the Thai champ from making the trip to England.

So the co-main event slot was taken up by Rungravee Sasiprapa vs. Dean James instead. Sasiprapa suffered a serious arm injury in the second round and was forced to withdraw from the contest. James, was hence, pronounced the winner.
