Joachim Hansen returns, rematches Seo Doo-Won at ROAD FC 015 this May

ROAD Fighting Championship (ROAD FC) returns next month from the Chiak Stadium in Wonju, South Korea.

Officials today announced a rematch in the Featherweight division between Norwegian MMA pioneer Joachim Hansen and South Korea’s Seo Doo-Won, who first met back in 2013 at ROAD FC 011.

ROAD FC 015 will be the second trip to Wonju, South Korea in the promotions four-year history.

As usual, you can purchase next months ROAD FC event on internet pay-per-view at Ustream.

Almost exactly one year ago from the rematch date, Seo Doo-Won “The Korean Pitbull” met Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen in the cage at ROAD FC 011. The match became an instant classic because of their superb striking exchanges, textbook throws, and amazing grappling. Seo did the unthinkable when his hands found their target, and he almost knocked out Hansen in the first round – a feat that had only been accomplished once in Hansen’s career.  Hellboy avenged, coming back in the second round to reverse the Pitbull’s ground position and submit him via arm triangle.

Joachin Hansen (23-11-1), a fan favorite who established himself on the Asian MMA scene over a decade ago competing under some of the biggest promotions such as PRIDE Fighting Championships, DREAM and Shooto.

The Mixed Martial Arts veteran now steps back into the ROAD FC cage for a second time, following a successful promotional debut. Hansen, 34, claimed his first win since 2011, after a two-year hiatus.

Seo Doo-Won (9-7) may not have the experience, nor names under his belt. But up until his last outing against the former DREAM Lightweight Champion, Doo-Won racked up a six-fight win streak, with four of those coming under the ROAD FC banner.

With his first bout of 2014 set, Seo Doo-Won aims to avenge his last loss to the Norwegian and get back to winning ways, to stake his claim at being a contender for the Featherweight gold.

*ROAD FC’s next event takes place this weekend, April 6th. The headline act sees the hard-hitting Korean Top Team product A Sol Kwon (18-8), pair off against Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Giovanni Diniz (21-7), who trains out of Mixed Martial Arts world renowned gym Nova Uniao.
