ROAD FC 015 extends next months card with an additional three match-ups

As previously announced, Joachim Hansen will rematch Seo Doo-Won at next months ROAD FC 015, scheduled to take place May 10th at Chiak Stadium in Wonju, South Korea.

Officials today extended the card with an additional three bouts — Issei Tamura vs. Kim Soo-Chul, Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa vs. Park Jung-Kyo and Riki Fukuda vs. Son Hye-Seok.

May 10th will mark the South Korean-based promotions fifth event this year. And as usual, you can catch all the action on internet pay-per-view via Ustream.

Issei Tamura (7-5), a veteran of the sport for six-years made his rounds competing under Shooto, before crossing over to the UFC. However, after going 1-2 with Mixed Martial Arts premier establishment, the 30-year-old was eventually released and became a free agent.

The Krazy Bee affiliate joined ROAD FC late last year making his promotional debut at ROAD FC 013. And after getting choked out (Rear-Naked Choke) by Min Jong-Song, Tamura has now sunk to a three-fight losing streak. With his first bout of 2014 set, the strong wrestler looks to get his hand raised for the first time since 2012 against upcoming opponent Kim Soo-Chul.

Kim Soo-Chul (8-5) made his ROAD FC debut at the promotions very first event back in 2010. And since then, the 22-year-old has ventured outside of his native South Korea to compete under the ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) banner, eventually claiming the inaugural Bantamweight title.

After losing the 135-lb strap to one of the divisions best, Bibiano Fernandes. Soo-Chul returned to ROAD FC stopping Motonobu Tezuka in quick succession. Currently 4-1 in his last five outings, Kim looks to maintain winning ways when he meets Issei Tamura next month.

road_fc_15_posterFan favorite Ikuhisa Minowa (60-35-8) or “Minowaman” as he’s known throughout the Mixed Martial Arts world returns under the bright lights of ROAD FC, following the Japanese icons historic 100th fight, winning the contest via KO.

Last weekend saw the 38-year-old take on Goran Jettingstad, who was making his professional debut in the sport at IGF 1. And as expected, the leglock specialist made quick work of the Swedish debutant, mangling his foes leg.

Currently on a three-fight win streak, Minowa looks to extend that feat on May 10th when he goes up against Park Jung-Kyo.

Park Jung-Kyo (1-5) will be the man risking it all, especially his limbs at next months ROAD FC 015.

The 35-year-old South Korean native began his career in Mixed Martial Arts in 2011, and after losing five straight, Park picked up his first win of his career last year defeating fellow countrymen Kyung Hwan Ryu.

Jung-Kyo now faces his toughest test to date when he gets in the cage with “Minowaman” in what is expected and surely will be a dominating performance from the Japanese legend.

Former UFC and DEEP veteran Riki Fukuda (20-7) steps back into the cage for a second time with ROAD FC, where he last punched his ticket back into the win column defeating Kim Hee-Seung at the turn of the year for the promotions first event of 2014.

The 33-year-old who’s been in some memorable wars throughout his respected career, aims to put on another show when he goes up against South Korean wildman Son Hye-Seok.

Son Hye-Seok (4-5) returns to ROAD FC, following the biggest win of his professional career, after stopping the aforementioned Ikuhisa Minowa, while at the same time halting a three-fight losing streak under the South Korean promotion.

Now, the Korean brawler turns his attention to a new challenge when he’s paired off against another power-puncher in Riki Fukuda. The match-up has all the makings to be an all-out war for the fans to sink their teeth into.
