RUFF Fu set for June 7 in Shanghai, China

China’s leading Mixed Martial Arts organization and Fight Sport Asia’s 2013 Asian MMA promotion of the year, RUFF, has its full fight card in place for its upcoming 13th installment this fall.

The event, stated as RUFF Fu (12 +1) in a recent press release, is set to carry a staggering 12-bout line-up filled with a mixture of seasoned veterans and some new, fresh faces.

RUFF Fu (12 +1) takes place June 7, at the Hongkou Indoor Stadium in Shanghai, China.

The main event features an exhilarating clash between two of China’s up-and-coming fighters – Song Yadong (3-0, 1/NC) and Zhao Yafei (4-3). Song Yadong enters this 135-lbs tilt hoping to remain in the ranks of the unbeaten as he faces the toughest challenge of his career in Yafei, a fighter looking to build on his current two-fight winning streak.

The winner of this fight could see himself contesting for the promotion’s vacant Bantamweight championship title in the future.

In the co-main event, Chinese MMA superstar Wang Guan (13-1-1) returns in quick succession following his first round rout of the Philippines’ Jerson Estoro at RUFF 12. He’s set to face three-time world Sambo champ, Aliyar Sarkerov (6-3), another Russian import with a list of impressive accolades to his name, including the All Russian Pankration championship and the European Pankration championship.

Rounding out the main card will be four fights featuring some RUFF veterans.

After a tough three round decision setback to former UFC veteran Azamat Gashimov. top ranked Bantamweight fighter Lv Zhenhong (7-3) will look to get back to winning ways when he locks horns with promotional newcomer, He Jianwei (8-2). In addition, 2013 Flyweight Super Fight champion, Zhang Meixuan (13-2-1), returns to the cage for his much anticipated rematch with Shang Zhifa (4-5).  The last time these two met, fans were on the edge of their seats as both fighters went to war in a bout that garnered ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. Expect more of the same once again come fight night.

The main card will also feature a 155-lbs tussle between Kazakhstan native and Phuket Top Team’s very own Kuat Khamitov (7-3), and China’s rising star, Zhu Qingxiang (8-2).

The prelims will consist of six fights and fans will undoubtedly be looking to see how the likes of Sambo champs Shamil Magomedov and Marko Kosev fare on the Asian MMA circuit.
