Moraes-Suzuki headlines ONE FC 17, Fransino Tirta takes on Sami Amin

Two match-ups are now official for ONE FC’s return to Indonesia this summer.

Officials recently announced that a headlining tilt between Flyweights Adriano Moraes (10-1) and Kosuke Suzuki (10-3-2), and a Lightweight bout between Indonesia’s own Fransino Tirta (15-0-1) and Sami Amin (4-1) have been slated to ONE FC 17: Era of Champions.

The event takes place June 14 at the Mata Elang International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. As with previous events, the main card airs LIVE on Star Sports in Asia and streams online via pay-per-view for a price of US$9.99.

Moraes (pictured), from Brazil, linked up with the ONE FC ranks in 2013 as one of the most sought out prospects in the world. After dropping a split decision setback against Yusup Saadulaev in his promotional debut, the 25-year-old rebounded with a submission victory over former UFC veteran Yasuhiro Urushitani in his second ONE FC outing. He carries a stellar 10-1 record and is one of the most talented mixed martial artists to emerge from Brazil in recent years.

Suzuki, 29, is a Shooto staple who, come fight night, will be competing for the first time outside of his native country, Japan. After going through a rough patch from 2011-2012, the Japanese fighter currently resides on a five-fight win streak.

Tirta, 33, has amassed an unblemished 15-0-1 record since the launch of his pro Mixed Martial Arts career over a decade ago. Tirta is only the second Indonesian home-grown Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, and is regarded as the country’s best MMA fighter to date. After initially making a name for himself under the now defunct TPIFC banner, Tirta managed to ply his trade in promotions such as Art of War and Legend FC as well. The 33-year-old’s set for his ONE FC debut this June, and while he looks to keep his record unscathed, ring rust may be a factor since he hasn’t competed in the sport for over four years.

Egypt’s Amin is also set for his ONE FC debut. He has primarily competed in Egyptian Fighting Championship, where he’s compiled a perfect 4-0 record with three stoppage victories. His lone defeat to date came at the hands of Indian starlet Bharat Khandare at SFL 29.

With that, the latest ONE FC 17: Era of Champions line-up includes:

  • Adriano Moraes vs. Kosuke Suzuki
  • Fransino Tirta and Sami Amin
