Full Metal Dojo announces first MMA event in Thailand

Full Metal Dojo, Thailand’s latest Mixed Martial Arts promotion, is set for its inaugural event next month on June 7.

The event is set to be staged in Phuket, and will feature seven fights both on a professional and amateur level.

In recent times, Phuket has seen a boom in MMA with renowned gyms such as Tiger Muay Thai, Phuket Top Team, Team Quest Thailand and AKA Thailand among others taking center stage, and providing a platform for fighters across the globe to converge and train. Phuket has undoubtedly emerged as a modern day MMA hub with some of the region’s toughest fighters now plying their trade in the tropical island.

Founder and ex-fighter Jon Nutt says the promotion will be catering events targeted towards the local audience with a mixture of international flair and Thai fighters on the card. Commentary will be provided in both the English and Thai languages.

“We are about to take this beautiful island and the sport of MMA to another level with our brand new professional Mixed Martial Arts Promotion,” Nutt said. “For far too long, MMA in Thailand has been geared towards an English speaking audience. We aim to break that trend, flip it on its head and bring MMA to the real Thai mass audience. Get ready to enter… the Full Metal Dojo.”

Full Metal Dojo’s first event takes place June 7 at the Seduction in Patong, Phuket. Fight videos are expected to surface online following the event.
