Michael Bisping vs. Cung Le slated to headline UFC Fight Night in Macau

UFC Fight Night continues on the International stage later this year when the promotion touches down in Macau, China on August 23rd.

Dana White (UFC President) announced a Middleweight contest between UFC staple Michael Bisping and China’s own Cung Le at last nights UFC 173 post-fight press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cung Le (9-2) returns to the Octagon for the first time since 2012, following a knockout win over former Middleweight Champion and UFC veteran Rich Franklin.

Le, 42, made his promotional debut back in November of 2011, where he lost via TKO to fan favorite Wanderlei Silva. The former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion returned to best Patrick Cote. And then continued winning ways pulling off the upset against the aforementioned Rich Franklin.

Currently on a two-fight win streak, Le aims to make it three straight in front of a hometown crowd when he’s paired off against long time UFC veteran Michael Bisping.

Michael Bisping (24-6), unlike his opponent, seeks to get back in the win column after a disappointing performance against Tim Kennedy at last months “TUF: Nations Finale” in Quebec, Canada.

Bisping, 35, has long been regarded as one of the best fighters on the UFC’s 185-lb roster, but has yet to fight for the prestigious title. The Brit was last seen getting outwrestled by Tim Kennedy to a Unanimous Decision. And prior to that won a Technical Unanimous Decision over Alan Belcher. Since 2012, Bisping has went on a checkered win/lose streak.

Now with his first professional bout of his career taking place in Asia. The former top contender aims to get his hand raised for the first time this year when he’s pitted against the dynamic Cung Le.
