This Saturday, September 27th, Shooto makes a return to Korakuen Hall in Tokyo Japan.  Shooto 7th Round 2014 is topped by two Shooto Title fights, featuring current champions Shinya Murofushi and Yuta Nezu.  In the main event of the evening, Flyweight (52kg/114lbs) World Champion Shinya Murofushi (10-3-1) looks to defend against undefeated challenger, Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito (7-0).

Nobita Naito (内藤のび太)had lost in his amateur career and was determined to keep on winning from that point on.  Nobita was surprised by the attention he is getting leading up to this match.  Having won the 2012 Flyweight Rookie Tournament, Nobita has kept on winning his way to the #2 ranking and Title Challenge.  The Paraestra Matsudo trained fighter is coming off an unanimous decision win over his toughest test in his career, Yuki Shojo.  The champion, Shinya Murofushi (室伏シンヤ), is looking to defend his Shooto Flyweight World Title for the first time.  Coming off of a first round submission of Junji Ito, Shinya has been fighting the top Flyweights in Shooto since 2006 when he turned pro.  Shinya won the Flyweight All-Japan Amateur Shooto Championship in 2005, moving on to win the Shooto Flyweight Rookie Tournament the following year.  Shinya believes Nobita is a tough test, but he wants to be face of what makes Shooto.

The co-main event will be contested for the Shooto Pacific Rim Featherweight Title (60kg/132lbs).  Challenger, Keita Ishibashi (石橋圭太), has strung together 5 straight submissions wins, all of which were in the first round.  Training out of Wajutsu Keishukai Duro, the 28-year old will look to get the champion down.  Keita Ishibashi was able to submit Naohiro Mizuno with a rear naked choke in a Pacific Rim Title Eliminator.  Yuta Nezu (根津優太) has fought some of the best fighters in Shooto, VTJ and GCM.  The Pacific Rim Featherweight Champion brings a kick heavy striking game into this fight, spending his days training with Waijutsu Keishukai Tokyo.  Nezu might be most known for his brutal head kick KO of OZ at GCM Cage Force EX in 2009.  Yuta Nezu is coming off wins over UFC veteran and GRACHAN Bantamweight Champion, Motonobu Tezuka and DREAM veteran, Wicky Akiyo.

In a star studded night of fights, the 2013 Shooto MVP Takaki “SOYA” (征矢 貴) looks for his 7th pro win against long time Shooto veteran, Masaaki Sugawara (菅原雅顕).  The 19-year-old SOYA looks to be only the second man to finish Masaaki Sugawara by knockout in 25 fights.  Sugawara has fought the best fighters at Bantamweight for over 8 years, fighting the likes of Rambaa Somdet, Mamoru Yamaguchi and a win over Yuki Shojo.  2013 Welterweight (70kg/154lb) Rookie of the Year, Yusei Kawana (川名雄生) faces former Pacific Rim Title Challenger, Kenichiro Togashi (冨樫健一郎).  Infinity League Fights in both weight classes and more in this stacked line-up.
