PXC 45: Rolando Dy and Kyle Aguon to contest bantamweight title


The Asian-Pacific promotion presents PXC 45 featuring a bantamweight title fight between Philippines Rolando Dy and Guam’s Kyle Aguon on the Guamanian’s home soil according to a press release.

Kyle Aguon (7-4) is Guam’s top bantamweight prospect. He challenged Michinori Tanaka for the title at PXC 40, but came up short over 5 rounds (Tanaka is 1-1 in the UFC). Aguon defeated Hawaiian Russel Doane at PXC 38 (Doane is currently 2-1 in the UFC).

Rolando Dy (5-2), also known as Rolando Jr, is on a 3 fight win streak and is the son of legendary Philippines boxer Rolando Navarette. At the age of 23 he is already a veteran of the PXC cage.

Elsewhere on the main card, Australian featherweight Alex Volkanovski (7-1) is slated to face Guam’s Kyle Reyes (5-2) and Darren Uyenoyama (8-5) makes his promotion debut a year after a three fight stint in the UFC. Uyenoyama faces Shane Alvarez (10-1).
