Update: Jumabieke will now face Marcus Brimage at UFC Fight Night 55

UFC officials have annouced Jumabieke Tuerxun will now face American Marcus Brimage at UFC Fight Night 55. The November 8 card in Sydney, Australia, is set for 12 bouts and headlined by middleweight contenders Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping.

Jumabieke Tuerxun (15-2) was originally slated to face Patrick Willians, but injury forced the UFC to look elsewhere for an opponent.

Marcus Brimage (6-3) was actually scheduled to fight Erik Perez at UFC 180, but accordingly Perez suffered a shoulder injury. Brimage will step into the breach looking to get back on track after losses to Conor McGregor and Russell Doane.

Tuerxun came into the UFC as an unbeaten fighter, but the former RUFF bantanweight champion has had an uncharacteristic start to his UFC career. Consecutive losses to Mark Eddiva and Leandro Issa in 2014 make his trip down under a must win. China’s top bantamweight showed improvement against Issa in the Fight of the Night at the TUF 19 Finale.
