Japanese sensation Kyoji Horiguchi scheduled to fight Louis Gaudinot at UFC 182

Flyweights Kyoji Horiguchi and Louis Gaudinot have agreed to fight at UFC 182 headlined by Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier on January 3, 2015. MMA-in-Asia broke the news (link).

Kyoji Horiguchi (14-1) is Japanese MMA’s next big thing. The diminutive 24 year old has shown quality in his UFC tenure, going 3-0 including impressive stoppage victories over Dustin Pague and John Delos Reyes. The former Shooto bantamweight champion is quickly putting together a solid resume at 125lbs. His lone professional loss was at the hands of JMMA veteran Masakatsu Ueda via decision (majority).

His prospective opponent, Louis Gaudinot (6-3-1) is without an offical win in over 2 years. His decision loss to 125lbs gatekeeper Tim Elliot was followed by a submission victory over Phil Harris that was overturned due to the presence of a banned diuretic in Gaudinot’s blood stream. Gaudinot returns after an enforced six month lay-off and does own a submission victory over flyweight contender John Lineker in 2012.
