XFC 22 results: Young and Mahony victorious in title fights

On Nov. 1 XFC (Australia) returned to action with 15 fights overall and 2 professional title fights. In the XFC 22 main event Shane Young defeated defending featherweight champ Adrain Rodriguez and in the co-main event Jacob Mahony needed just under a round to defend the bantamweight strap against Richie Ivory, according to the official XFC facebook page.

New Zealander Shane Young is the new XFC featherweight champion after he was able to revenge his Majority Decision loss to Adrian Rodriguez at XFC 20. Young showed his determination not to leave it in the hands of the judges and finished Rodriguez via third round TKO.

The co-main event continued the international theme, but Irishman Richie Ivory remains winless on Australian soil with a first round TKO loss to defending bantamweight champ Jacob Mahony.

One of Australia’s longest running promotions, XFC 23 “Enter The Jackal” is set for March 7, 2015, in Brisbane.
