Valor 9 results: Callan Potter headkicks his way to title defence over Stuart Dare

Valor welterweight champion Callan Potter successfully defended his belt against the strong challenge of Stuart Dare with a stunning fifth round headkick KO (image credit Joshua Stebbings – Photographer).

In a hard fought main event Victorian Callan Potter landed a stunning right head kick to the jaw of Tasmanian Stuart Dare, sending him crashing to the canvas in the fifth round.

Stu Dare’s 5-4 record belies the fact his last 3 loses have come at the hands of top flight competition in Australia, including Jake Matthews post TUF Nations and immediately prior to his call up from the UFC.

Callan Potter (8-4) has registered a loss to Jake Matthews and Corey Nelson who has just been signed to ONE FC, however he is steadily building a resume that will see some international promotions circling the improving prospect.

Adam Trickey defeated David Butt via headkick in a eliminator bout to determine who will challenge lightweight champion Adam Cook.

Valor 10 is set to take place in Brisbane on January 31, 2015 (check facebook for details).
