ONE FC 23: Warrior’s Way Live Results

Follow Fight Sport Asia as ONE FC 23: Warrior’s Way starts at 6am EST (19:00 PHT local time) on Friday, December 5th.  The event is being streamed on Onefc.com and on Fox Sports 3 in Asia.  FSA has your main card and preliminary card previews, as well as the weigh-in results to get you ready for the ten fight card tonight.

Preliminary Card:

Tharoth Sam vs Jujeath Nagaowa

Round 1

Tharoth Sam is Cambodia’s first female MMA fighter and undefeated in her pro career.  Jujeath Nagaowa is a Filipino boxer with 8 KOs on her boxing record.  Jujeath trying to take center cage as Tharoth uses the distance to land a kick and then closes.  A few strong knees in the clinch by Sam and Jujeath is trying to grab double underhooks.  Tharoth lands a big knee, but Nagaowa gets a take down and tries to move to the back.  Tharoth stands back up, but Nagaowa is grasping onto the left side underhook and pushes her up against the cage.  A right, left right combo lands on Tharoth and Nagaowa flattens her out and attempts a rear naked choke.  Jujeath looking to get her hooks in and tighten up the choke.  Sam is out of trouble, but Jujeath still trying to choke.  Jujeath attempting a modified bull dog choke, but Tharoth Sam is defending the choke, attempting to move to Nagaowa’s back.  Nagaowa stays heavy and lands some left hands to Sam’s face.  Nagaowa moves into Sam’s guard and attempts a few slams from guard at the end of the round.

Round 2

A brief break as Sam doesn’t have her mouthpiece in, not something you want against Nagaowa.  A right hand just misses from Nagaowa.  Jujeath is being aggressive and throwing in combination.  Tharoth using the push kick to keep Nagaowa away.  Body punches after a right hand by Nagaowa.  Nagaowa using her strength to lands strikes and keep Sam away.  A right counter from Sam lands.  A right hand over the top rom Nagaowa is counter by Sam.  Sam lands a knee and attempts a takedown, but Nagaowa gets the back and looks for the choke.  With only one hook in, Sam is defending the choke enough to not get choke and Nagaowa comes on top and throws some knees to the legs.  Nagaowa takes top position and is attempting to lands ground and pound.  Sam attempts a reversal, but Jujeath stays in mount and sits up and starts raining punches down on Sam.  Sam is defending, but Nagaowa is relentless and lands a big right elbow before the referee steps in to stop the bout.

Ana Julaton vs Walaa Abas

Round 1

Boxer vs Kickboxer as India’s Walaa Abas faces former WBO Female Featherweight Champion Ana Julaton.  Abas comes out with a three punch combination that lands.  Two knees landed in the clinch by Abas.  Abas drives another left knee into Ana’s gut.  Followed by two more.  Ana Julaton is looking for the single, but Abas is countering with a guillotine.  Abas lets it go and looks to throw knees.  A good right hand lands inside for Ana.  Ana is controlling Abas against the cage and landing right hands to the body.  Abas in guillotine position, but the choke is not very tight.  Abas lets it go and backs to the center.  The fighters exhcange.  Two left hands land by Abas.  A left hand counter just misses from Julaton.  A right hand a left hand land for Abas.  Julaton lands and gets Abas’s back against the cage.  Ana is looking for the takedown and gets it.  Ana Julaton is landing left hands from the back and attempts some knees.  Abas is driving for a takedown, but Ana is landing right elbows to the side of the head.  Ana is pushing back hard now, taking control on the cage.  A right hand lands and a right uppercut just misses for Ana against the cage.  Ana has a guillotine and lands a right knee tot he body, attempting to finish the submission at the end of the round.  A very tough round to score, Abas landed the harder shots, but Ana took over late in the fight and landed more strikes.

Round 2

Ana is the aggressor now and pushing Abas against the cage and looking to land right hands to the body.  Three right hands land to the body and one upstairs.  More exchanges as the fighters go to center cage.  Abas is still throwing hard, but looks very tired.  Ana Julaton is stalking, but her output has slowed.  Abas threw a solid left and lands it clean.  Julaton is pushing forward and trying to hit the body will Abas is counter with hooks.  A right leg kick lands for Abas.  Abas is throwing hard and in combination, looking to get some energy back while waiting to counter.  A big left hook lands for Ana Julaton, but she seems to be just outside.  A big left that looked to push Ana back a bit, a right and follow up land right after.  Abas pushing Ana against the cage.

Round 3

Abas is coming out hard, a push kick and some punches from Abas as she drives Ana into the cage.  Ana gets out and lands a left high knee.  Two left hooks land for Ana against the cage.  Abas pushing Ana up against the cage, landing small shots to the calves of Ana.  They separate and Abas looking for that left cross.  Ana is pushing forward, but waiting to throw.  A right uppercut grazes Abas.  Ana looking for the takedown, but Abas locks on a guillotine, but lets it go after she knows she can’t get it.  Abbas is getting off with her counters.  Ana is clinching and lands a nice knee to the body.  Two right knees to the body land.  Abas gets out and pushes Ana to the cage and throws a knee to the body of her own.  They separate.  A big left cross lands for Abas.  The two are throwing punches now.  Abas is landing harder.  A left hand puts Ana back and Abas pushes her against the cage.  Ana pushes Abas against the cage and looks for a takedown, but can’t get it.  A very close fight

Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke vs Rene Catalan

Round 1

Both men looking to strike.  A right kick just misses for Catalan and Dejdamrong misses a high kick and Rene gets the takedown.  Rene in half guard and looking to pass.  Dejdamrong gets back to his feet, but Rene is pushing Dejdamrong against the cage and lands a knee.  A right hand drops Rene for a fraction of a second.  A right hand by Dejdamrong.  Dejdamrong in the clinch and landing big knees over and over.  A huge knee to the body from Dejdamrong drops Rene Catalan to the floor and the referee is forced to stop the bout.  Dejdamrong continues to showcase what a dangerous finisher he is at flyweight.

Roger Gracie vs James McSweeney

Round 1

James looking to control the center, landing from outside.  James throws a right high kick that just misses.  Gracie coming back with his jab.  Gracie using his jab, James just misses with a high kick.  A left hand counter lands for McSweeney.  A high right knee just misses for Gracie.  McSweeney with a jab to the body.  A left hand just misses.  Gracie looking to stay just outside and being successful.  A brief clinch and knee lands for Gracie on the exit.  A left low kick lands for James.  A right head kick grazes Gracie and James goes in for the kill with a knee.  Roger didn’t see the shot coming, but he recovered quickly.

Round 2

McSweeney just outside the range of Gracie, a right hand over the top lands for James.  A knee lands for Gracie on the outside.  James throwing that push kick up the middle.  James throws that right hand, right head kick after, but misses.  Gracie looking to gain confidence as James just misses.  Gracie looking to stick the jab.  The first take down attempt by Gracie and McSweeney stuffs it.  A right hand over the top just lands for Gracie.  Gracie cutting James off and he can’t going anywhere.  James trying to kick his way out.  James lands a counter right hook.  Gracie pushing as James has a cut on his right eye.  A left head kick just grazes the chin of Gracie.  Gracie pushing James now, pickign up the pace.  A right cross just misses for James, Gracie still trying to land the jab and come back with the right.

Round 3

A right straight hand lands for McSweeney.  Gracie’s kick up the middle is partially blocked.  That left head kick is blocked by Gracie.  Gracie working the jab again.  A right head kick just misses Gracie’s chin.  James lands a right kick to the body and a left inside low kick.  A huge left kick to the body lands for McSweeney.  He defends a takedown and partially lands another to the right side of gracie.  a left hand lands down low for James.  A left kick to the body again.  James continues to land that right hand counter over the top.  A right leg kick lands and it looked to hurt James.  Gracie pursues and lands some punches on James and gets the finish in the third round.

Timofey Nastyukhin vs Eduard Folayang

Round 1

Both men traded punches and a right hand landed twice for Timofey.  Timofey backed Eduard up enough to land a jumping flying knee that dropped Eduard.  A lunging punch and two brutal soccer kicks put an end to Eduard’s night.

Brandon Vera  vs Igor Subora

Round 1

Brandon lands a big left head kick that hurts Igor.  Brandon pressuring against the cage and lands some knees in the clinch.  Igor is tough and is comign back.  A heavy kick to the body lands for Vera.  Vera looking to land the counter left hand.  Igor still coming forward and lands a right hand of his own against the cage.  Igor is swinging, chasing down Vera.  A big right leg kick lands for Vera, as he circles in the middle.  Igor lands a right hand over the top of the guard and a left hook behind it.  Igor is cut around the nose.  Igor continuing to throw heavy punches while Brandon looking to counter.  A leaping left hook lands for Igor.  Another middle kick lands for Vera, a right hand lands for Igor.  A straight left drops Igor and left soccer kicks to the head force the referee to stop the fight.

Bantamweight Title: Bibiano Fernandes vs Dae Hwan Kim

Round 1

A takedown attempt that Kim defends and Bibiano goes back in for a double, relentless for the takedown.  Kim is landing elbows to the back of Bibiano’s spine and gets a yellow card for his efforts.  The referee sets the fight back on the ground in a similar position.  Bibiano is looking to get the back and Kim spins and gets on top.  Bibiano locks in a triangle, but Kim is twisting out.  Bibiano adjusts for an armbar, but Kim gets out and on top.  Kim is throwing right hands to the head and Bibiano stands back up.  Both men cautious in the center of the cage.  A left hand lands for Bibiano and a flying knee from Kim misses, a takedown and Kim gets back up as Bibiano grazes Kim two hooks against the cage.  Two spinning back kicks land to the chest of Bibiano, the second just missed the head.  Bibiano goes for the shot and Kim defends and lands a left to the body.  A quick double puts Kim down and Bibiano is working from Kim’s guard.  Kim elbowing the top of Bibiano’s head to end the round.

Round 2

A right hand misses for Bibiano and Kim defends the takedown.  The toughness of the South Korean showing through.  Kim threw a spinning back kick that lands to the body.  Bibiano takes the back in a standing position and locking to lock in the rear naked choke.  It’s a tight choke and Bibiano wins with a second round submission.
