Invicta FC 11: Cristiane “Cyborg” Scheduled to Defend Featherweight Title

Invicta FC 11 has been announced for Friday, February 27th in Los Angeles, California, USA.  The main event of the evening will be the return of Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino to defend her title against Charmaine Tweet.  Cyborg hasn’t lost a fight since her debut in 2005, but she hasn’t stepped into the cage since July of 2013.  Justino will attempt to defend her title against the Canadian challenger after 20 months.  Tweet has won her last two fights, including a first round knock out of Veronica Rothenhausler in August.  Cyborg injured her ankle this past year after training with Phuket Top Team in Thailand.

The co-main event will feature two of WMMA’s top flight prospects.  Unbeaten 20-year-old Alexa Grasso (6-0) will take on DEEP Jewels 114lbs Champion Mizuki Inoue (8-3).  Mizuki Inoue is a 21-year-old Japanese prospect with a highly technical overall game.  Mizuki Inoue is coming off of a loss to top prospect Karolina Kowalkiewicz at Invicta FC 9, but was 6-1 in her previous 7 bouts (the only loss due to DQ) including wins over UFC veterans Bec Rawlings and Alex Chambers.  Alexa Grasso won both of her Invcita bouts, finishing Alida Gray in the first round in her latest bout this past December.  Both ladies will look to strike in this fight, is this too big of a step up for Alexa or will she prove to be the top level fighter she is projected to be.
