Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon vs. Soo Chul Kim: One FC Pride of a Nation!

A fun bantamweight scrap!

Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon was a Filipino rising star who blasted his way to the One FC stage with nine straight victories, until he ran into Japanese submission magician Masakazu Imanari, who applied one of his trademark leglocks to remind his 24yr old opponent that he was not quite the finished article just yet.

Soo Chul Kim was once Korea’s brightest prospect in April of 2011, as the teenager notched his third straight victory on Road FC’s second show, but a subsequent loss to Andrew Leone and a pair of back-to-back defeats to Leandro Issa and CFC champion Gustavo Falciroli in One FC have tempered the youngster’s progress.

Regardless, he is still a talent to look out for, and with the better part of a decade before he reaches his physical prime, let us see how he fights with more experience under his belt on the big stage.

This is a tasty little bout, and with other names floating around the One FC Bantamweight division such as Bibiano Fernandes, Falciroli, Issa, Anthony Leone, Andrew Leone (though usually a flyweight), Imanari, Yodsanan and more, I find the division to be one of the more interesting in Asian Mixed Martial Arts right now.

That’s the making of one hell of a Bantamweight Grand Prix right there, me hermanos!

I say boom boom boom… lemme hear you say WAY-OH!
